Rowdy Gaines was one of the top swimmers in the world in the 50m, 100m and 200m free in 1980, but he could not go to the Olympics due to the boycott. He decided to continue his training though, and in 1984 he went to the Olympics and won 3 gold medals. In his Interview with John, Rowdy discusses the unusual start to his swimming career, winning the gold medal in the 100M freestyle, some of his thoughts on freestyle swim technique and more!
